If cats only had nine lives... It was about nine months ago when our nine year old cat Onyx disappeared under the bed. Literally she was almost invisible, we never saw her come out to eat or use the box. We would check on her and make sure she was still alive but in the beginning we didn't really think too much about her new behavior. After a couple of months when we noticed her getting thinner we took her to the vet. According to him she was dehydrated and if we wanted further care we were going to have to have an ultrasound. There was no way that I could afford this. So I hoped for the best. I watched as I thought that she was getting better, but in the last few weeks she began looking thinner and it was becoming harder to take care of her. We took her in last Sunday. She was 3 lbs. losing her fur and had complete kidney failure. She was a good cat. The first that I had chosen, named and called my own. We will miss her very much. Thanks for nine years of love and keeping my head warm at night. We love you Onyx!
The picture was taken long before she was sick :)
