Has it really been that long? Really?

Wow there is a lot to catch up on when you don't blog for 5months :(

The summer months passed by and I still had no hope of finding a job. Life was a roller coaster with its ups and downs. There were days that I just felt like staying in bed. Needless to say I didn't use the opportunity to keep everyone up to date. Then September came, 5 weeks after the school year started and finally I was hired at a new elementary school. I teach 3rd grade now and even with all the challenges I am liking it. All the new changes are keeping me pretty busy. So here is what you missed....

Alayna celebrated 4 fantastic years. Her party was filled with creativity and color. Each kiddo got their own canvas and mom-in law helped sew 12 art smocks. Thanks a bunch, I know they were a hassle but they came out looking great. Also a big thanks to the gals over at Bee in Our Bonnet for sharing your ideas.

TORA! TORA! TORA! Yep that is right once again we went to another annual airshow. This year they had a reenactment of Pearl Harbor. It was AMAZING! Check out some of the photos we took.
Alright I am going to give you a break from the photo overload. Halloween is next week and I am sure that I will have some more terrific things to share with you by then!

She's 50!

She can Kick, stretch and kick....she's 50. Last week my mom turned 50. We (my sisters and I ) decided to surprise her with a Sally O'Malley birthday party. Don't know who Sally O'Malley is, she is a Molly Shannon character from SNL. My mom really was surprised and bonus she actually knew who Salley O'Mallley is. I didn't get too many pictures on my camera, but others took plenty on their phones. I hope that I can get some of them and share them later. Any way here is what I got.

Sigh....Relief

I can now breath a small sigh of relief. Lani had her surgery this morning at 10:00. It took about 45 mins and she did great. They said that her tonsils were huge and that the Adenoids were just as big and had been blocking her nasal airway. She is now enjoying lots of popsicles and ice cream. I hope over the next week her recovery will continue to go well.

Sleep Study and Tonsillectomy

Alien baby

We asked for a sleep study to definitively say that Lani had sleep apnea and that we should remove her tonsils. She was so brave while they put the wires on, but her discomfort of it all quickly turned her smile to a frown. We had only expected to stay overnight and be released in the morning. Wrong! Instead they admitted us due to Lani's lack of oxygen intake during the night. We got the conformation we needed that the tonsils were blocking her air flow. I had no idea that they would plan on scheduling surgery for this weekend. She will go into surgery bright and early tomorrow. I feel bad because I have no way of preparing her for the pain that she is about to endure. I will keep everyone posted.

Simple and Cute ways to show your appreciation

I have been so busy that I have just now found the time to get pictures off my camera to share these cute projects with you. This fist one we gave our daycare provider for Valentine's Day. It was really simple I bought a metal pail from the $ bin at Target and using my Cricut machine and vinyl I gave it a stylish heart. Inside I filled it with a few bottles of root beer, some cupcakes and voila a cute, simple gift. She really liked it too.

I also made me this cute little tray with my Cricut and Alayna's hands. I like it so much I still haven't put it away.

For a special treat I gave these trail mix snack bags to my students. All you need is a pack of clothes pins, googly eyes, pipe cleaner and glitter glue. This will make the body of your butterfly. For my trail mix I used all fruit, cheerios and yogurt chips. Put about a 1/3 cup into a snack size bag. Let all the air out and scrunch in the middle to make the wings. These were a big hit both cute and delicious! I can't take all the credit for this one though I got the idea from Family Fun.

Second grade is always responsible for administrators day, which means me. So this year I decided to give them a cake pop bouquet. Thank you Bakerella for this scrumptious recipe. My household loves them. I chose to use a vanilla cake this time and make many different flavors with different frosting's. Cherry, lemon and vanilla. YUM!!

So Here's What You've Missed...

Well two Monday's ago I was told that I would not have a job for next year. If any opening are available I will not know until late August and I will have to reapply and interview. Then on Wednesday that same week a water main broke under our driveway. We are going on week three and the whole thing still is not finished. Friday was my birthday...we all celebrated at CB Potts. I had a great time!!
This is the hole. It starts right at my front porch.
